Product review: Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer

I purchased this product approximately 2 weeks ago at Wal- Mart, I had finished my Clinique moisturizer and was using some random Bath and Body Works cream. I was looking for a cream that had SPF in it because I find it extremely difficult to put on / even wear sunscreen. For starters I hate the consistency, the smell, the feeling when it's applied to my face and the list goes on!

I was talking to my mom and she suggested that I just stick with a simple and gentle cleanser, she thought  I may have been using too many harsh ingredients on my face. So when I payed Wal-mart a visit, I went straight to the cleanser isle and I stumbled upon the Cetaphil section. To be honest I have seen these products 100 times, but the packaging just turns me off..it is so plain and yucky (not particularly for the lotion but more so for the cleansers)! I was in need of a moisturizer more than I was another soap so I decided to pick up the cream and try it out.

This particular product claims to be Non- comedogenic, Non greasy, fragrance free, and Non irritating.. I put this to the test and found that out of all 4 claims 2 were bang on, and while the other 2 were okay..does that make sense haha?! Basically I felt that the cream did live up to it's expectation about being Non-irritating, and Non-comedogenic however I still felt it did apply a tad greasy upon application, and to me it did still have that slight sunscreen scent.

However saying that, the qualities were not a turn off for me .. the thing is that the lotion applies a little greasy at first, but it does tend to dry matte after. This moisturizer never broke me out so that was another good trait, because it is Non- Comedogenic it does not block pores which limits that amount of breakouts that can occur. The cream is good for all skin types so it says, and never once did it irritate or bother me.

The consistency is nicely formulated, it's just right in order to nourish your face however it is not overly thick or too wet. The price is $15.00 for a 50 mL bottle, and it comes with a $2 .00 coupon off your next Cetaphil purchase. Also one thing to note, the cream has a pump and I find it very easy to dispense the exact amount of product you need. Overall I am very happy with this moisturizer, I have been using it twice a day once in the morning and once before bed :)

What's your favorite moisturizer? Let me know!

New Wet n Wild Megalast Polish!!

Recently I heard Romanian Butterfly 206 (Ashley) rave about these polishes in her U.S.A Drugstore Haul, and I instantly fell in loveeee with the colors. They are so bright, vibrant and affordable..I never saw them at a Canadian Wal-Mart until now!

I got 2 colors but sadly they aren't for me haha, they are for a friend of mine who's birthday is fast approaching (I hope she's not reading this). I am not sure if any of you have tried out Rimmel nail polishes but the applicator is just like that. It is a paddle shaped one which I like..I find that they cover more nail area in a single stroke and they are not streaky at all. I hope these turn out to be good nail polishes, I'm sure that they will though.
Left: I need a Refresh- Mint
Right:Tropicalia

Ahh they are just gorgeous colors!!!

I love all the colors above especially the one one the far right called "sugar coat"..It is such a lovely pink ;) Have you tried these out before? What's your favorite color??

Goodnight!

Stroll down memory Lane

You don't really know how much you've grown as a person until you reflect back on your life... today I had the unexpected task of cleaning through my personal work. My basement is in the process of being renovated and all the boxes from our storage area were brought up. It made me smile so much to see all my work good or bad; and the journey that I have taken so far all the way from kindergarten to second year university. It was little things like journal entries or arts and crafts that brought back such good memories. Take a look:)

A journal entry from 1999 would you look at that!
.. I think I meant to say cranky whoops:)
A birthday card from the principal of my school, my Mother's day card and a bunch of Valentine's day card
Close up of the card..
A portrait of me with my bike, this makes me laugh:)

...ohh and I also came across some of my baby clothes!
The pink one I wore to my uncle's wedding, and the white was a summery dress!

I have more to sort through so I should get to it
Byyyye!

Book Blabber: The Hunger Games

So I know this must be quite delayed but hey I just read it! I finished it yesterday and loved ever last page of it. Typically speaking I don't find myself reading books or watching movies during the big hype period.. you could say I am always really late on the movie and book trends but I do get to them.
Hunger Games was a series I was skepticcal about because I didn't think I would like it at all...I didn't even understand what the big fuss about it was until I read it.  I loveee reading chick flicky books and always find myself veering towards those genre of novels compared to any other.
I won't bother doing a whole plot summary because even without reading it I bet most people know what it's about or  atleast  have seen the movie trailer. I knew before I even started reading that it was about this girl (Katniss) who volunteered to be a tribute in hopes of protecting her sister from having to fight (who was initially choosen to participate in the Hunger games).
I love how fast pace the novel is, it's clear, vivid and well written. I swear I was reading it and I felt like I was seeing everything! It was like I could close my eyes and picture everything they way it was being described. Some say it's predictable but for me the book took me by surprise and it was truly enjoyable.
You may like me have  not understand the pandamoniam over this whole thing but I urge you to read the book atleast..it is soo goooooooood:) I am so excited to start reading the second novel!!

Next on my reading list is.....
Toodles!

New Products @ Shoppers

What was supposed to be a quick trip to Shoppers (to get milk & tissues) turned out to be not so quick. So many new products caught me I so I decided to share!
*NEW* Essence

This is a new makeup line featured at Shoppers drug mart and boy is it inexpensive. I love finding a cheap products that work wonders! They have such a wide variety of items, from lip tints, to lip glosses, eyeshadows and much much more.

Here are some pictures I took:
~Quick Overview~
~Eyeshadows~
~Lip Glosses~
~Lip Sticks~
and here is the blush I settled on, and it was only $2.99
 (Secret it-Girl)
(Showing up a bit darker however it is actually a peach colored blush  which has some shimmer to it, perfect for a dewy sun kissed look)

Next up the Sally Hansen Nail strips

Yesss these have been out for quite some time but the nail strips now have new designs and patterns..have you guys tried these before? How do they work?
These 3 are my favee!

Moving onn, the thing that I got most excited about...The SensatioNail gel manicure kit

If you haven't heard about this click here! I initially heard about this kit through a video on Youtube by Elle Fowler (All that Glitters 21). I was just in awwee, I loved the product soo much, because I adore gel nails, I love the look of them!! She had mentioned that they were available at Wal-Mart in the U.S so I checked at my local Wallie (here in Canada) but there was no such thing:(

Lucky for me I now know where to buy it..although I will have to get a job before I can splurge on this.
It is rather expensive, retailing at $79.00 for the starter kit (which includes: The Led lamp, nail cleanser, wipes, gel activator etc..) The polishes alone are a lot too $16.00 each. I did find a cheaper solution though, Orly has the same sort of system with the lamp that cures your nails (and the accessories) polishes are sold separately. The Orly kit was only $38.00 I believe...

...and lastly New Quo sets!

There is lip gloss sets for $20, eyeshadow set with some glosses $25, a whole palette of large eyeshadows $35 and the larger kit (at the back) which is full of even more eyeshadows & glosses!!

I am in love with the packaging such a sleek design!:)
(it is like a magnetic box, the side snaps shut)

Hope you all had a great day
Bye for now

My day & More

Today was rather interesting it started off stressful for me but soon after the stress just washed away thanks to my fun and quick outing with Lisa. For employment purposes I was requested to provide a letter from my University. Sure it was simple in the end but the time I had to wait on hold for a simple answer was rather long!

I thought it would be fun to have some company with me while I went down to my campus, so I asked Lisa to join me for the ride. We made a pit stop there. I ran in presented my I.D and Yalahhh we were done! It is beyond crazy why I was so anxious and nervous..I don’t even understand?!We got our favorite treat Booster Juice (Mango Hurricane) and headed to the mall ! It is so funny because there are periods where I don’t even see the inside of stores and malls and then all of a sudden at least once a week I will be hitting them up.

So the purpose of today’s mall trip for me was to exchange my MAC concealer (was given the wrong one) and also to make a stop off at Payless. I wanted to switch the select moisture cover concealer to the MAC pro long wear..in the process I also wanted to switch the shade of both the concealer and foundation I purchased. I was using NC35 but had noticed it was a tad orange for my skin tone. On top off that when my skin would get oily the color of the product would darken (would oxidize), the associate (who was sooo helpful) tested out NC30 on me and told me it was better to go lighter in that case if I would get oily the color change would not be too drastic. I just came across a blogger who talks more in depth about makeup oxidization and the tips and tricks to counteract it Click here to see..

Problem with me and why I have such a hard time finding my perfect shade is because my skin tone is not light and it is not dark. I am in the middle range however most foundations tend to have more pink undertones in it creating a very unnatural finish on my skin. When I select other foundations (with more yellow tones) it can often be too orange..plus I have to factor in the oily skin. So hopefully the NC30 works out, I will keep you folks posted.

I think Lisa and I both have a weakness when it comes to Bath & Body Works..and yes we went in to the store..probably shouldnt have though haha! I went in there to find a possible gift item for a friend  and maybe something for my mom since Mother’s Day is fast approaching. I got items for both individuals and it turns out I got 2 free goodies in the process..YAY for free stuff:)

I have a Moon Light Path Fragrance and my mom adores it, she loves to lightness and freshness of the fragrance. Bath and Body works had a big gift pack or a little one (with mini’s) showcasing this line. I went with the bigger gift pack which had 3 items in it: A moonlight path fragrance, shower gel, and cream. I absolutely love the new packaging of the scents, it looks like an actual perfume so elegant and sophisticated.
For the friend I decided to go with the pink Chiffon Gift pack, a 4 0z. candle (Black Berry Grapefruit) & a sanitizer...I have more to add though..possibly some makeup items!

Best part about this was since the box set had full sized items in it I received 30% off both gift packs. I went up to the register expecting my total to be well in the $50 area but it was ONLY $30 somewhat dollars!!:)
I could have even got a lower deal if I had remembered to bring the 10$ off coupon code that is on the bottom of the receipts (you have to call the number and take a quick survey, upon completion you get a code, the next time you go to B & BW you present it to them and they scan it)

Bath and Body had a weekend promotion going on where one could receive free products with their total purchase. Since there were left overs from that day they were still giving out freebies.

This is what I got!
A free tote bag ($5.00) says the price tag, and a Malibu heat cream (Full size) which is &11.00 in stores..Coolest part is this line is not even on shelves yet, it was like an exclusive gift

It is the most nicest summer scent..funny how I didn't actually purchase anything for myself but I ended up coming home with 2 things for myself anyway:)

Bath and Body describes this body lotion as " a fresh blend of  juicy pineapple, California orange, and creamy coconut milk inspired by a hot pink sunsets and twenty- seven miles of beautiful beach"

What is your favorite Bath and Body Product?

That's it, Hope you enjoyed my rant!
