Easiest D.I.Y Ever! (using a mini candle holder)

I know most of you ladies receive perfume samples in your beauty boxes, so I have a nifty way to store them using a mini candle holder. I wasn't even going to do a post about this but it turned out really cute so I wanted to share.

Here is what the other holder turned out like....

I find that glass candle holders come in so handy for crafts, after I am done using a candle I wash it right away and store it. There are so many ways to re-use your holders, check out how Missglamorazzi vamped her large BBW candle into a brush holder.. I wish I had crystal vase fillers to add to the holder just so the perfumes are not all over the place, unfortunately I don't have them but I'll be sure to pick some up next time when I'm at the dollar store.

Tru Blue Spa: Shea Cashmere & Silk Body Cream

This stuff works wonders, I have had it for a while but only recently started using it. I love applying this to my body especially my feet after a nice shower. It's non greasy formula hydrates and infuses your skin with moisture and leaves it feeling silky and smooth.
It smells heavenly and has some amazing ingredients such as African Shea butter, silk proteins, and cashmere extracts.
I would describe the consistency as somewhere between a butter and a lotion, it's not as wet/ runny as a lotion but it doesn't have the thickness of body butter. The cream is fast absorbing, and the smell lingers on your skin, which I love.

Pro's
~Amazing scent
~Moisturizes body and leaves it feeling luxurious
~Non greasy, and fast absorbing
~African Shea butter nourishes the skin, while silk proteins help to soften the natural skins texture, and lastly the added cashmere extracts provides a silky feel
~Not tested on Animals
~ Comes with a large amount of product (7 oz. 198 g.)

Con's
~ The only con that I can think of is the price, it is a bit expensive retailing at $17.50 in Bath and Body Work Stores (However that being said, many times throughout the year they have sales on the Tru Blue line..in fact during this semi- annual sale, this cream originally $17.50 was marked down to 2$!!!!!!!)

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and I would like to
extend MANY THANKS to all my subscribers, new and old for supporting me and joining me on my blogging journey.

Jewelry of the Day!

I love adding jewelry to my every day attire as a way of amping up my look. I think jewelry can dramatically uplift an outfit, and give it some punch but it can also give a much more classy and sophisticated appearance. This is the set that I am wearing today, I got it as a gift from my cousin and I really like wearing it. Its a simple vintage inspired piece that looks great with anything. I pair it with my regular outfit (jeans, tee, and a cardi) and  it definitely looks a bit more polished. You can play up your look by adding small dainty pieces, or swap that for a more bold statement piece. Either way jewelry really adds that “pop” for me and it’s a great way to accessorize.
Here are some pieces Im really admiring (All from Aldo Accessories)

My Summer Beauty Picks!

I am normally a bit self- conscious about my face, however this summer has been so hot that I have no desire to wear a lot of makeup. Usually I opt for a full coverage foundation to conceal imperfections such as blemishes, and scars but recently I have been sticking to the bare minimum and I'm quite okay with it. A little while ago I would probably been too embarrassed to wear such little face makeup but it is very refreshing to feel so lightweight. For eyes I've really been obsessed with golden/ bronzey colors, they look so natural yet so beautiful, and for lips I have been using my trusty lip butters.

Eyes
1) Like I said, I have been mostly sticking with neutral colors such as light browns and goldens. I have found that my LA colors palette (in tea time) is perfect. It ranges from a soft shimmery beige to a darker brown. I have been applying the first color (on the left) as an all over shadow, and intensifying ever so slightly by adding the third and 5th color in my crease.

2) If I am not using the Tea time palette, I have been dipping into the Loreal Color Infalliable single eyeshadow in Iced Latte. I really love this shadow, it applies very nice and smoothly and has got a frost finish to it. I use this all over my lids and just add a darker bronze in my crease.

3) Lastly to top off my look I have been using Covergirl's Lash Blast Fusion. I just did an in depth review of it, so click here to read.

Face
4) Lately I have been ditching my foundation, and using my Pro long wear concealer. I've been dotting it on some of my problem areas. A little goes a long way, I'm able to dot the concealer on and then spread quite a lot which is great. If I do choose to wear foundation, I apply one thin coat, just to even out my skin tone.

5) High Beam gives my face such a nice twinkle, I apply this product on the high points of my cheek bones and sometimes underneath my brow bone. It's gives me a nice glow without being oily or dewy. It makes my blush pop out so much more.

6) This has been my go to blush for the last little while, it is secret- it-girl by Essence. It's an orange toned blush with a hint of shimmer in it. It is extremely pigmented and silky to the touch, I have been applying a little to the apples of my cheeks and it gives my face such a radiant pop of color.

Lips
7) My lip butters have been the only lip products I have been using for a long time now, I absolutely adore them. if I'm looking for a nude lip I stick with Creme Brulee..mine is just about done, so I have to stock up on another one

8) If I'm looking for just a slight bit of color I will dab on Berry smoothie, I wear this paired with Creme Brulee and I love the look. I first apply Creme Brulee all over and then go back with Berry smoothie and apply to mostly the middle part of my lips.

What are some products beauty products you can't live without in the summer?

Beauty Blog Review: Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion

A couple of weeks ago while at Pharmasave I picked up a mascara. I finished my Illegal Length one and was in great need for a new bottle. I grabbed the cheapest mascara that was on sale and it happened to be Covergirl's Lash Blast Fusion. I got this for $5.99, I've tried the original Lash blast years ago, so I was quite happy to re-try another one. Somehow Maybelline Mascara's suck me in each time, this lash blast was a nice change from my usual choices. I've mentioned before that it takes me a wee bit of time to get used to a new mascara. I feel as though I go through a cycle of experimenting/not liking, then liking/loving, and then by the time you now it I'm in need for a new tube!

The Mascara came in this big purple tube, and is almost identical to the original lash blast except that this is one is intended for lengthening and volumizing. The wand is medium/large and  has short rubber bristles. I find these bristles are very useful because they help to comb out any excess formula. Scroll down for my thoughts:)
Pro's
~ No flaking, lashes are flexible..not stiff at all
~Cost effective & fairly priced (for what the mascara does)
~Good formulation (not overly wet or too dry.. this is especially good because mascara rarely transfers onto eyelids)
~Gives a very natural look (even though it's considered a lengthening and volumizing it's definitely not a dramatic mascara)
~The wand bristles help to eliminate clumps (even with a couple of coats I never get clumps or added chunks on my lashes)
~Gives a bit of volume
~ Water proof version comes of without any fuss ( I actually picked up the water proof one by accident and was too lazy to return.. I couldn't believe how easy it was to remove with just my regular cleanser and water..no loosing lashes, or extra residue left over)

Con's
~Wand can be a bit inconvenient when trying to reach lashes in the inner most part of your eye
~I have medium/long lashes already, and I didn't find this mascara provided my with any more length than I already have
~ This mascara does provide a little volume but sometimes It's hard to achieve the fullness that I desire (I always have one eye that looks amazing, and one that is a little less fuller due to gaps)
~ Doesn't hold up a curl very well, at least for me (anyone else experience this)

Overall
I like this mascara, at first I did not like it at all but slowly I've gotten used to it! It just gives my eyes a nice finish without being too dramatic. It's perfect for me to wear in the day time because it isn't too heavy. It doesn't smudge or smear.. I cried with this and my eyes lashes looked wonderful after :) I just wish it provided me with a bit more volume and held a curl better
Would I re-purchase?
Yes I would, but there are so many other maraca's out there that I want to try so I would probably hold off on buying another tube. While this mascara is good, it's definitely not the best one I've tried.

What are your thoughts on Covergirl mascara's?

Random stuff I bought!

Hey Ladies,
I'm here with another "Random Purchases" post! Like most of you, I go to the store for one reason and come back home with stuff that I didn't even intend to buy. Today I made a special trip to Zellers to look for bathroom accessories, I know that probably sounds soo boring, but I was quite excited haha! The washroom in my basement was built so I wanted to get mats, and towels etc.. I didn`t find much of that but I did come home with a soap dispenser and tumbler. I absolutely adore this one, it looks like broken stained glass, and it`s a really pretty champagne color.. It honestly looks hand made.

I was strolling the aisles when I heard a lady talking really loud about 67 cent candles!! As soon as I heard the word candles I was there. I was so surprised to see Yankee candles at Zellers, and was even more surprised to see that they were on sale. I once saw them at Bed Bath and Beyond and they`re definitely pricier candles.

I got 4 mini`s which were all a whopping 67 cents..even the medium large candles were on sale! I am so excited to light them, currently I am enjoying Bath and Body`s Market Peach candle:) I love getting smaller sized candles so I can try them out, if I really like the scent I go back for a larger size. The middle 2 candles are perfect for the summer season, Bahama Breeze is just so fresh, while Orange creamsicle is a sweeter scent. If your a candle junkie like moi and you have a Zellers in your area I would go by and stock up.

Do you have a favorite Candle brand / scent?

Book Blabber: Nineteen Minutes

Hello Everyone!

Today's post is a wee- bit different.. not beauty related at all. It is however, dedicated to a book I just recently finished. If you read my "What's in my Bag" (Going Away) post, you'll know I took this book along with me on my camping trip. I was a bit apprehensive about it because I didn't think I would enjoy it. I try not to judge, but I am so used to reading chick flicks, that I automatically assume I won't like a book because it's a different genre. This book was so refreshing and different, I thoroughly enjoyed each page.
Quick synopsis:  "In Sterling, New Hampshire, 17-year-old high school student Peter Houghton has endured years of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of classmates. His best friend, Josie Cormier, succumbed to peer pressure and now hangs out with the popular crowd that often instigates the harassment. One final incident of bullying sends Peter over the edge and leads him to commit an act of violence that forever changes the lives of Sterling’s residents."

Take a look at this Book Trailer:

This book was honestly an emotional roller coaster for me, I felt the pain of not only the victims of the tragedy but also for the suspect who committed the crime. It's a book illustrating the struggles one boy in particular had to endure from his childhood to his teenage years because he himself was a victim of bullying. You get to see so many perspectives throughout the book, from the past to the present, and it makes you question so many things. You feel for the parents who are at the center of this catastrophe, because their son resorted to violence as a means  of coping with the on going bullying. I was deeply saddened to see Peter's (the shooter/bullied victim) life unravel before my very eyes and to know that his life was simply ruined. This book touches on so many subjects, it's heart warming, emotional, sad and gripping..It's a book I'll remember for a long time.

The way Jodi Picoult crafts her novels is simply amazing, her writing really stood out to me. The books are very realistic in that they touch on topics that are very relevant within today's society. I just put like 4 or 5 books by Jodi on hold at my local library..I can't wait to go on a reading- spree. Here are some of the novels I will be reading soon:
Have you read any books lately?
Would you read Nineteen Minutes, Let me know:)

Wedding Outfit

This past weekend my best friend (Lisa) and I had the great pleasure of attending our high school friend's wedding. I honestly just can't believe how fast time whizzes by...I was soo incredibly excited about it since it was right after my camping trip and now it's like a film re-playing in my head...she's married and her wedding is OVER. Anyways I thought I'd share
with you all what me and Lisa wore.

I wore a long dress, it's a flowy chiffon material, and I absolutely lovee it! I used all silver acessories (scarf, shoes & hijab (scarf) However, my ring had accents of blue in it. The most pahh-zazz came from my scarf, it was covered with silver sequins!

Lisa looked stunning, and I was soo glad I got to get ready with her. She went with a mid length dress that was purple, it came with a matching cover up as well. It had a empire waist belt that was made out of a shiny satin material. She paired it with silver accessories as well. Lisa is quite tall so she opted for an awesome pair of studded gladiators from Aldo..aren't they gorgeous?!  She topped it off with a purse with the same finish as the shoes; more matte
and grey toned.

I had a blast and am so happy we got to attend the beautiful wedding. I think both Lisa and me were a mess by the end of the night, it's hard to let a person you've known for so long go but I am so happy for the bride. I wish her all the best, and can't wait to see the journey she embarks
on throughout her married life
As far as makeup, I stuck to my my normal face routine (MAC studio fix foundation + Pro long wear concealer)..for eyes I tried to create a really pretty silver/ black smokey look. I curled my lashes for an extra dramatic look and applied Lash Blast Fusion (Covergirl)..final touch was a bit of lip color.
Lisa went with a smokey purple eye; the look was created using the purple Wet N' Wild palette (Petal Pusher) This girl has amazing skin so no foundation for her (sooo lucky!), to add a bit of color and glow to her complexion she used a mosaic powder from Essence.

Hope you all had a fab Monday,

What's in my Bag: Going Away Edition

Hello!

Wow it has been a while since I last posted, I have been having a severe case of blogger's block, on top of that I have been really busy! I usually have so many ideas and thoughts but lately I've been a little bummed out and nothing seems to be coming to mind. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to do a "what's in my bag" travel edition because I like seeing/ reading what others bring along with them.

Quick Overview:
Bag-TNA bag (Aritzia): I have had this bag for ages (since gr.10 to be exact) and it still remains to be in good condition. It's sturdy, has a lot of room and is great for over night use. I still use this bag as well as my other one (black & pink) for uni but I find at times they can be a pain. I ALWAYS find ways to over stuff my tna bag!

-Notebook & Jodi Picoult's 19 minutes (Has anyone read this? I borrowed this from Lisa..it's not my go to genre but I thought I'd give it a go anyway and see how I like)
-Makeup (makeup bag zipper broke so I put some things in this plastic case)
- Face & Body products
-Shoes
&
Clothes/ scarfs

Here are some of the makeup goods I'm taking along..it's really minimal and nothing fancy

I am probably going to take out the eyeshadow trio...thinking about it now it's probably unnecessary and I don't even know if I'll be able to use it. I think the shadow blast should be good enough, because it's quick and easy and more convenient!

Here are my face and body picks!
Mini size products come in so handy when your out for a couple days! The hair care products were all from previous Luxe boxes, and the Simple products came from a travel pack I bought. I decided to leave the Simple moisturizer and swap it for my Cetaphil one instead because it has SPF in it. Other random stuff includes body wash, and a body spray...hope I'm not forgetting anything!

If you were very limited in space and could only select a few things what makeup/face/body products would you bring a long with you on a trip??

Hope your all well!:)

Wishlist Additions!

Hello,
A while ago I posted a Drug- store wishlist ..I put together a collage of all the items I was currently lusting after. Well today I officially have two more added to the list!:)
A blogger I am subscribed to (Gaby's Beauty Blog) had Revlon's Peach Petal on as part of her "Face of the Day'..I instantly fell in love! I never have been a major fan of gloss mainly because of the tacky, sticky feeling. Although, after using Cargo's Blue Ray HD lip gloss in Laredo you could say I am very tempted to try some others! I feel like Revlon has been coming out with AMAZING products..Lip Butters, Just Kissable Balm stains, Photo Ready Blush etc.

I remember going store to store in hopes of finding the Lip Butters, it took some time for them to appear on Canadian shelves however they are no readily available. I hope to find the Kissable balms soon!!  Have you guys seen the Lustrous Lip Glosses? I haven't looked for them in particular but I don't remember seeing them at Wal-mart or Shoppers..I have however seen the Color burst lip glosses well stocked each time I go.
(Picture Below) ...
Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss
I Really want two of the glosses, in particular; Peach Petal & Nude Lustre :) Next on the the list is the Peach Petal Nail polish. I found out there was a matching polish after seeing the gloss, how lovely! The color is a soft peach pastel and it's sooo pretty.

That's it Girlies!
Hope your having a great day

P.S) I heard from a Youtuber that Peach Petal and the Lilac gloss are limited Edition so I hope a can snag one! "

Bloggy Hop # 19

BlogLoveTherapy

I hope you all had a great weekend with family and friends. I feel like the time has just flown by tomorrow being July 3rd, I just can't believe it.. two months of my summer GONE!! With that being said here is this week's lovely blog hop. I didn't take part in the last few but I thought I would participate in this one. Even though I didn't join in, I was literally on BLT's site twice a day checking for updated blog entries. Many thank you's to them for hosting these hops, I have become a huge fan! It's such an easy an convenient way to find other bloggers who share common interests with you.
 Happy Hopping:)
