All About the Lips: A Wishlist!

As you can probably tell by my two lip product posts recently (Part 1 & 2) I'm all for lip glosses and balms these days. I've been having this uncontrollable urge to buy each and every lip item I lay my eyes on. I've read about these on on numerous blogs, and my wishlist keeps expanding day by day...here are some of the lip treats I am after!

1) Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss- At first glance I didn't think much about these glosses, didn't really care for them either! I was at Sephora yesterday and I happened to inspect these glosses and what can I say..I WANT! I especially love 2 out of the 6 shades! Dandelion is a beautiful soft pearly pink color.. I swatched it yesterday and was about to get it but I chose a Korres butter instead.

2) Korres Lip Butter (Mango)- I only heard about these a little while ago through another blogger and I couldn't seem to forget about them . The Korres butters are creamy to the touch and come in various shades. I was a bit intimidated about some of the colors as they look pretty bright but was pleasently surprised to see that that they sheer out. The next shade on my lippy list is Mango, a bright but lovely orange toned balm.

3) Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (Rendezvous)- I have two of the balms in my collection (click here to read review) and I can't wait to get a couple more. I think these are overall a great product!

4) Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss (Bellini)-Okay I have been looking for this everrrryyywhere and I can't seem to find! I've watched videos and read blogs on it and here's what I know..the gloss was apart of the Summer 2012 Escapism collection, it was accompanied by other lipglosses (fire, sunset peach, and pink ice just to name a few), the Photoready blushes (flushed, pinched and coral reef) and some new nail polishes (sheer seaform, gold coast, red bikini etc.) I did see the Photoready blushes make an appearance at some of my local stores but  I never recall seeing this particular lip gloss. Anyways I am still hopeful that I will find it soon. It's a lovely beige toned nude (not as milky/ thick as the lustrous gloss in peach petal).

5) Korres Butter (Pomegranate)- This is another one of the shades that has caught my eye. Pomegranate is a lovely reddish shade! I have been looking very frequently at multiple Winners hoping to find them, it's been killing me ever so slightly that I haven't been able to so I had to buy one from Sephora! I've seen their facial wipes, mascara (bought it), powder compact and shower gels stocked up on shelves at Winners but never the butters. I picked up Jasmine which I love and I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for a set so I can try out different shades

6)Revlon Kissable Balm (Lovesick)- Just another shade I'm drawn to! I have been trying to branch out and use not so nude colors but it's hard because I'm so used to them!

7)Benefit Gloss (Hoola)- I saw this lip gloss shade before dandelion and it was one that I liked. It's a light silky nude gloss with lot's of shine! Not sticky at all:)

Have you tried any of these products?

Suggestions for a Good Drug store Foundation?!

I’m saddened to say that my beloved M.A.C foundation is almost finished. I've enjoyed my experience using M.A.C's Studio Fix Fluid and have incorporated it into my daily beauty routine for a while now however, my wallet is looking for a more budget friendly foundation! I'm turning to you my blogging friends for help and suggestions.  I find it hard to match colors to my skin tone and somehow always manage to pick up shades either too dark or too pink. While I love M.A.C I need to find an alternative that's just as good. I know the drugstore has a great selection when it comes to foundations, it's all about finding the right one that meets your needs.  In fact before my encounter with M.A.C cosmetics all I used was drug-store..I was thinking of stopping by Shoppers Drug-Mart soon with my foundation bottle (NC30) in hopes of finding a match. I was thinking Loreal's True Match may be a good place to start because of the vast color range. I've also heard Revlon foundations (Photoready) are great as well.
What I'm looking for....

-A good foundation first and for most!
- Preferably a matte finish as I have somewhat oily skin
- Something full coverage however medium will do as well ( I can always build up)

Know of anything? Let me know in the comments :)
Take care lovelies, hope you all have a WONDERFUL DAYY!

NOTD: China Glaze Go-Go Pink

I received this nail polish in my Luxe Box ages ago and finally had the chance to use it
(I actually have nails to paint wohoo). China Glaze's Go Go pink is a soft girly bubble gum pink color, the polish is not sheer however it took 3-4 coats (maybe even 5) to even it out. I experienced a lot of streaking with this polish so I had to add thin layers to build up the opacity. The polish has no shimmer in it nor is it completely matte, it has a nice shine built into it.
I like that this nail polish has a hardener in it, I always manage to "ding" my nails or get marks/ dents in them before they've completely dried. This nail polish dried nicely and fairly quickly and I was left with strong hard nails.

While I love the color of this particular nail polish, the application was very streaky. This is my first China Glaze nail polish so I'm curious to see what others are like.

What's your favorite China Glaze nail polish?

Lip Products I'm Loving (Part 2) Shine Lipsticks & Lustrous Lip gloss

This is part two of the lip products I've been loving, if you missed part one I talked about the New Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm stains. If you'd like to be directed to that post you can click here!

So the next lip product I have been loving is actually a lip gloss by Revlon. I have been super impressed with Revlon lately and have really been enjoying the items I've purchased (Photoready cream blush & the Kissable balms). I have been ogling this gloss for quite awhile now, and I finally got my hands on it (Thanks Lisa). I've said many times before that I am not one for gloss, in fact I actually despised it because of it's sticky texture. However lately I have been more and more interested in them!
Here's a quick run down of the product..
Pro's
*Nice sheer gloss (not too wet or thin, but not fully opaque)
* Great moisturizing ability- definitely on the thicker side
*After the color fades your lips are left feeling plump and soft
*Feels creamy and gives off a nice shine when applied to the lips, no stickiness at all!
*Awesome color range, 12 shades to be exact (it includes, corals, lilacs, pinks and more)
*Pretty affordable, I've seen it at Wal-Mart for as low as $6. (Other Canadian stores such as Shoppers or Zellers which is soon closing jack up the price just a tad)
*The gloss has a nice light scent to it
* The biggest perk of all is that the gloss has SPF 15 in it-
 perfect protection for your lips
* This may be a pro or con to some but it has no glitter or shimmer in it
(which I prefer)

Con's
- With eating a drinking it does tend to fade, so you may need to apply throughout the day

Peach petal is a milky, peach nude color, this shade adds a nice cream sheen finish to my lips. I've been alternating between this and other lip products, I enjoy it especially because it adds to my lips without covering them entirely..in other words since I have fairly pigmented lips this gloss goes on very easily and my natural lip color still shines through. When first swatching Peach Petal it looks opaque but by the time you spread it out it does tend to sheer out. Although it looks like a very pale and ghostly colors it gives off a light pink hue.

Next Lip product I've been enjoying and using a lot are the Joe fresh shine lipsticks. I featured the pink shade "kiss" in a Winners, and Superstore haul but I thought for the purpose of this post I'd re show it with a brief description.

These are essentially a tinted lip balm, I don't think they have the longevity or pigmentation of a lip stick as they are quite sheer. In the packaging some colors look awfully bright but the color dulls down when you apply. It has a great amount of shine to it and gives your lips a nice flush while hydrating them. For what the product is worth I think it's definitely something that I would re-purchase. It does wear off kind of quickly but I don't mind re-applying.

Pro's
*Looks great when applied, a shiny finish (doesn't settle in cracks)
* Colors such as "kiss" may seem bright at first glance but they wear down
*Affordable ($6 at Superstore)
Con's
*Because this gloss is more on the wet side I find  it doesn't last as long.
*When on your lips the product feels moisturizing however when it fades it can feel a bit drying because it's not as thick or waxy as other tinted lip products such as the kissable balms, or the Revlon Lip butters.

Overall I still do enjoy these shine lipsticks, I think they are slightly comparable to Maybelline Baby Lips because of their texture however I think the baby lips (Cherry me) has more color to it. I haven't tried pink Punch but I've also heard that the color payoff is quite good on that shade as well..I also think the Maybelline Baby Lips are better scented!

I have just been obsessed with any sort of lip balm product lately, first it was all about my Lip Butters and now I've added other items in to the mix.

Hope you are all having a great weekend,

A Little B & BW Therapy!

As you may already know I'm a Bath and Body Works junkie (Candleeee obsessed to be exact). I love the store so much and I almost never walk out empty handed.  A couple days ago I got a free 10$ gift certificate to my local mall. The expiry was coming up soon (Sept. 2) so me and my family decided to go to the mall for a little outing! I couldn't find anything in particular that I liked and I also didn't want to waste the free $10 gift card so I headed over to B & BW. Their 3 wick candles were 2 for $25 and they had some other promotions going on (50% off on Malibu heat line, and 50% off on old candles).  If you haven't been to bath and Body works lately They have recently launched their new Paris line which is full of romantic scents! They also have a new line up of fall candles (Autumn, Pumpkin spice latte, spiced cider etc..) as well as their new candle brand White barn. I decided to get two large candles (one for my mom and one for me), and 3 mini's (3 for $6).

B and BW always offers a free 10$ off a purchase of 30$ or more, so I got 30$ worth of merchandise, used the 10 dollar Bath and Body coupon, and then used my free $ 10 mall certificate and only ended up paying a $13 dollar difference, pretty amazing if you ask me:)

Check out the goods...
Left to Right: Lavender, French Baquette & Apple Crumble

Below is the Large 3 wick candle I bought from the new brand White Barn.
OMG this smells devineeee- soo good I could literally eat it!
I picked the same scent for my mom cause she really loved it so that's why I didn't picture it.

My Newest Glitter Polish -Revlon's Stunning

Stunning is the newest edition to my polish collection, I'm really not one for the glitzy nail polishes but some reason I have been LOVING glitter tips these days. That as well as sponging have been my go-to nails! I love applying a solid base coat to my nails (OPI's hearts and tarts) and then just gently dabbing on any sparkly polish to create a glitter gradient. I love it because it's not as uniform as a french manicure (although I do still love), each nail is unique, and different.
Revlon's Stunning is a silver micro and hexagonal glitter nail polish mixed with a clear base. It applies very easily and dry time is not a problem. The nail polish is really pretty, especially when the light hits it. As you can see from the picture above some glitter bits look yellow while others look blue!
I always find Revlon nail polishes to be very reasonable in price. Often times I go and they will be on for $3.49. Revlon has a great assortment of colors too .
Here I just sponged on a very minimal amount of stunning onto the tips of my nails. Ignore my shabby looking nails, I'm a CRAZY nail biter haha!
I must say this is definitely wayyyy better than they were last month;)

Other Revlon nail polishes you may be interested in, if you liked this...

-Whimsical
-Popular
&
-Sparkling

(all have different colored bases with the same type of glitter as stunning)

Lip Products I'm Loving (Part 1) - Kissable Balm Stains

Over the past couple of weeks I have been obsessed with buying new lip products! Since seeing the kissable lip balms at my Shoppers Drug Mart ($11.49) I have been going back and forth between Wal-Mart and Super- Store in hopes of finding them for a cheaper price. Some of my readers informed me on my previous post that they found the Revlon Balm stains at their local super store for $7.49! Believe it or not I went back to Super-Store last week with my mom and they were still unavailable. My best friend actually got me my first kissable balm stain and I later went back to Wal-Mart and bought a second one.
These Kissable Balm Stains are exactly as they sound, there a moisturizing balm mixed with a lightweight stain. I'm constantly amazed by these every time I try them, and fall more and more in love. I picked two very neutral colors and although they aren't as bright as some of the others in the collection, they make my lips feel so soft and hydrated. They give a nice glossy shine to my lips and even after a little while when the shine fades the stain doesn't. It's as though the color develops over time, first you have a subtle color with shine however, after your left with a slightly darker stain. I love that these kissable balms never leave my lips feeling dry like some other products I've used. I have been dealing with minor cracked lips, however upon application of this balm it almost immediately nourishes and quenches my lips.

You'll never have to worry about this product settling into fine lines like you would with a lip stick. I actually prefer the balm stains far more than a lip stick because it provides such a light pop of color while leaving  your lips feeling incredibly smooth. I also should add that these balms have a slight minty smell to them but it is definitely not overpowering or too strong.

Description: A long lasting tinted lip balm that has a stain built into it
(more pigmented and long lasting compared to a regular colored chap stick)

Packaging: Comes in a chubby crayon tube that makes applying super easy! Don't have to worry about putting on too much, you have control for a precise application. Unlike products like the NYX jumbo eye or lip pensils these kissable balm stains twist up so you can get the most out of the product.

Pigmentation: While I have two of the lighter shades I'd say that most colors have a great color pay off. Precious makes for a great nude, it has has pink undertones in it and I absolutely love it! I know some people find nudes hard to work with but I could see a lot of people liking this, it doesn't wash me out or give me ghost lips. Charm on the other hand really brings out my natural lip color and adds a bit of sheen which I like equally.
Price: Revlon Balm stains are tad expensive retailing anywhere from 7$ on sale to 11$ full prize. I don't like the price tag but hey I LOVE the product, I'll probably wait till I see these go on sale and grab one or two more colors.

Some of the kissable balms slightly resemble some of the lip butter shades to me! I LOVE Creme Brulee & Creamsicle (lip butters) and when I first saw these balms I knew I would have to get charm and precious just because they looked similar. Don't get me wrong the formula is completely different and they may not be exact matches but if you really loved a particular lip butter shade I'm sure you'd find one that is slightly similar to it in the Kissable balm collection since they have a nice array of colors (12 shades).

Some of the similar ones that I've noticed..
- Creme Brulee & Precious
- Creamsicle & Charm

-Tutti Frutti & Rendezvous

Gumdrop & Darling (both seem to be cool toned pinks when you look at swatches)
Cupcake & Cherish ( I was also thinking Cotton Candy could do as well)
Have you tried these out yet?
What are your thoughts on the highly talked about Kissable balms?

P.S) Part 2 to come soon! I will be talking about the Joe Fresh Shine Lipsticks & the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss:D

Wohoo for my 100th post!:)
